Terms of Service
Welcome to LinkUp Room (linkuproom.com). These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of our mobile applications, web platform, professional networking community, job application services, and Side Gigs freelance marketplace.
1. User Eligibility and Roles
Users must register with truthful, accurate information. Role categories include Job Seekers, Students, National Service Scheme (NSS) personnel, and Approved Employers. Only verified individual freelancers may offer Side Gigs. Built-in Job Postings are restricted to Admins and Approved Employers.
2. Side Gigs & 100% Milestone Escrow System
LinkUp Room operates a 100% Milestone Escrow system powered by Paystack, mirroring standard international freelance protection models (Freelancer.com):
- Upfront Escrow Deposit: Clients fund the complete order amount via Paystack prior to order execution. Money is held securely in escrow.
- Standard 12% Platform Fee: LinkUp Room deducts 12% from the total order amount to maintain secure escrow infrastructure, payment gateway compliance, dispute arbitration, and user verification. The freelancer receives 88% upon milestone release.
- Milestone Approval & Release: Funds are released to the freelancer's Mobile Money or Ghanaian bank account only when the client inspects and approves the submitted work.
3. Strict Prohibition of Off-Platform Transactions (Circumvention)
Soliciting, facilitating, or agreeing to offline or off-platform payments (such as direct Mobile Money transfers, cash, or third-party bank transfers) for jobs or gigs originating on LinkUp Room is strictly prohibited.
- Transacting outside LinkUp Room forfeits all escrow protection, review authenticity, and administrative dispute resolution.
- Any user found attempting to take transactions offline faces immediate permanent suspension and forfeiture of account funds.
4. Dispute Arbitration
If a client or freelancer encounters a disagreement regarding deliverable quality, deadlines, or scope boundaries, either party may file a formal dispute through the app. LinkUp Room administrators review the project brief, deliverable files, message logs, and revision requests to issue a conclusive ruling (release or refund).
5. Intellectual Property Rights
Upon full payment and escrow release, the client receives all standard copyright and intellectual property rights in the custom deliverables provided by the freelancer, unless otherwise specified in writing.
6. Community Standards & Reporting
Users are expected to communicate professionally. Harassment, fraud, hate speech, spam, and deceptive postings are subject to immediate removal. Users can report any suspicious or abusive user directly within direct chat threads.
