Upload version 2.1.3 to Google Play

Google Play wants the .aab file. The .apk is only for installing on a phone directly. Do not upload the apk.

File to upload

Name: LinkUpRoom-2.1.3.aab
On this computer: C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\LinkUpRoom-2.1.3.aab
Also here: C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\linkuproom\release\LinkUpRoom-2.1.3.aab
Size: about 89 MB. Version 2.1.3, build 35.
Package name inside the file: com.nofeejobs.nofeejobs_agents

Do this once

  1. Open play.google.com/console in Chrome and sign in with the Google account that should own LinkUp Room. A new Play Console account costs a one-time fee of 25 US dollars.
  2. Click Create app. App name: LinkUp Room. Language: English. Type: App. Free. Accept the declarations.
  3. You do not type the package name. Google reads com.nofeejobs.nofeejobs_agents from the file. Keep that name forever. A later file with a different package cannot update this app.

Upload the file

  1. In the left menu, open Test and release, then Internal testing. Start there. It goes live for testers much faster than a public release.
  2. Click Create new release.
  3. If Google asks you to use Play App Signing, accept it. Google then keeps the key users trust, and you keep uploading files signed the same way this one is signed.
  4. Under App bundles, click Upload and choose LinkUpRoom-2.1.3.aab from the Desktop.
  5. Release name: 2.1.3 (35). The file already contains version name 2.1.3 and version code 35. Paste these release notes: Video posts can be up to 500 MB, including large phone recordings. Upload progress is shown while the file sends. You can add a cover image before posting.
  6. Click Next, then Save, then Review release, then Start rollout to Internal testing.

Finish the store page before the public release

  1. Store listing: short description, full description, app icon, and phone screenshots. Feature graphic is 1024 by 500 pixels.
  2. Privacy policy: https://linkuproom.com/privacy
  3. App content: complete the content-rating questionnaire, the ads question, the target-audience question, and Data safety. LinkUp Room accounts use email, name, phone, photos, and videos that people choose to post.
  4. Add yourself as an internal tester with the Gmail address on the phone you want to use. Open the testing link Google gives you and install from Play.
  5. When that install works, open Production, create a release, and choose the same 2.1.3 bundle. Public review often takes a few days.

The phone install from linkuproom.com can stay in use while Google reviews the Play listing. The next Play upload must be a higher build number than 35.
